You have to remove the three bolts that hold the Power Steering pump on, and move it out of the way. Under this there is one bolt with an electrical connector (3 wires) screwed into the block.
It is located beneath the power steering pump in the engine block
To replace the camshaft position sensor on a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Locate the sensor, which is typically situated near the top of the engine, and unplug the electrical connector. Remove the mounting bolt(s) securing the sensor and gently pull it out. Install the new sensor by reversing the steps, making sure to reconnect the electrical connector and reattach the battery cable.
On a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, the camshaft position sensor is typically located near the front of the engine, mounted on the cylinder head. It's often positioned close to the timing cover, on the passenger side of the engine. To access it, you may need to remove some components like the engine cover or other nearby parts for better visibility and clearance.
Do you have the 3.4l or 2.4l engine, the camshaft position sensor for the v6(3.4l) is located under the power steering pump
one of two things, the upper o2 sensor or the camshaft position sensor
it is right above the oill filter just to the left
The camshaft position sensor is right under the power steering pump. Remove the power steering pump to access the sensor.
i have a 2003 olds alero i need to know the location of the camshaft sensor

On a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, the most commonly referenced sensor is the oxygen sensor, which is typically located in the exhaust system. There are usually two oxygen sensors: one before the catalytic converter (upstream) and one after it (downstream). Additionally, other sensors, such as the mass airflow sensor, are located in the intake system, while the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors are found near the engine block. For specific sensor locations, consulting the vehicle's service manual is recommended.
its mounted on the transaxle under the car
