The speed sensor on a 90 lumina 3.1 should be on the drivers side top of the tranny, below the steering rod. Sould be a screw in sensor with wires attached.
It is located in the transmission.
On my 92 lumina it is right behind the wheel bearing hub assembly. It'll be right above the pulse ring which looks like a big gear that is used by the magnetic pickup (sensor) to determine wheel speed or slip. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1054022&parttype=1912&a=FRc1054022k82691
