On a 1991 Buick Skylark, the throttle position sensor (TPS) is typically located on the throttle body, which is part of the intake manifold. You can find it mounted on the side of the throttle body, connected to the throttle plate. It's a small component with an electrical connector and is usually accessible without needing to remove major engine components. Be sure to disconnect the battery before working on it to avoid any electrical issues.
On the drivers side of the throttle body.
Throttle position sensor. This is on the throttle body.
A bad throttle position sensor, on your 1991 Saturn, will cause the engine to run rough when it is idling. The engine will run normally at higher speeds.
you need more info in your question make and model of vehicle why do you think you need a TP sensor?
It means Throttle Position Sensor. http://www.extreme-check-engine-light-codes.com/HONDA_OBD1_Decoder.htm
On the right side of the throttle body (where the intake piping meets the engine) you will have to disconnect the hose clamps that hold the plastic piping to the throttle body to get a clear view. I would also suggest removing the throttle body as a whole to replace the throttle position sensor its held on by 4 hex screws. The sensor plugs into the engine harness right ubove the intake piping; its a fat grey clip with 3 wires attached to it
how to remove crankshaft position sensor from 91 Buick Regal
It is mounted on the throttle shaft usually on the other side from the throttle cables. It has a three wire connector plugged into it.
sounds like a damged tps, change the throttle position sensor, goodluck from jay!
in the distributor
If it's "hunting" for idle, it could either be your TPS (throttle body position sensor) has gone bad or in my case...bad fuel pump with intermitten fuel pressure.
i have a 1996 Mazda protege and it is at the rear of the transmission if you're looking from the front drivers side. it is almost directly under the throttle position sensor which is located on the rear of your throttle body close to the firewall (almost directly in the center of the engine compartment).
