voltage regulators on the 97 n/t models have it built into the PCM. If your having charging issues please check electrical wires to and from generator. Both ground and positive wires could cause issues along the lines being Mitsubishi did have a long history of corrosion popping up and eating away at Cables. Now on the other note you may install and external voltage regulator which can be found at just about any auto part store prices vary on area and dealer brands. with gst and Gsx turbo models things do change as the voltage regulators is located on the generator it self please do your self the favor and loan the car to a friend or technician worthy of preforming such duties as diagnosing , I my self have been in a whole with quite a few of these cars in My time And no need to worry the repairs are quite easy and cost effective once you have sourced the issue.
