Like any electronic device, your CD player might have failed at any time in it's life.
Vibration, dirt, smoke, moisture and/or abuse can take their toll.
If you miss it a lot, it's probably cheaper to replace the radio with a used one (Ebay has a lot of them). I did just that in my '96. I got a radio that was formerly from a Grand Prix, I think. It worked just fine and cost me about $45. Just be sure it's unlocked, or that you have the security code for it. Replacement is about a 10 minute job.
Take a look at the belt that's driving it when the ac is on.
low freon, bad pressure switch, bad compressor clutch.
Is your headlight switch and blinker switch the same? If so, this is called the combination switch. Sounds like it is bad and needs to be replaced. Not uncommon for these to break.
u have a blown headlight. change both bulobs and it will stop.
I think I'd replace the turn signal flasher. It's just a little bi-metal switch and can go bad easily.
coolant levels or the thermostat

A bad fuel pump can cause your 1998 Pontiac Grand Am engine to randomly stop running. The fuel pump might be working at times and then at other times not working.
The fuse probably blew that controls the dashboard lights.
It's normal for the ABS unit in that vehicle to make an awful noise while making an ABS stop. I'm not sure exactly what causes it.
In the fuse box, a burnt out bulb can sometimes stop the flashers from working, check all of those first.
