If it is like my Ford Explorer , the check gage light comes on if the engine coolant temperature is high , the engine oil pressure is low , or the fuel level is near empty
check the fuse under gauges
dodge 2001 Dakota brake lights won't burn Check the fuses. If the fuses are okay check the brake light switch.
if it is effecting all the gauges, check for a loose, freyed or broken ground wire.
are you sure it's check gauges light or could it be check engine soon? Reason I'm asking is because I just recently purchased 2001 firebird, and check gauges light came, it just needed gas. Then it came on again to change oil. So I changed oil and it went off.
disconnect the positive battery cable for about 10 minutes
first check the fuses......maybe the cluster of gauges shorted out?....may need to replace it.
The "Check Gages" warning light on a 2001 Chevy indicates that one or more of the vehicle's critical gauges, such as oil pressure, engine temperature, or battery voltage, are outside their normal operating range. When this light comes on, it's essential to check the dashboard gauges for any abnormal readings and address any potential issues to avoid engine damage or other serious problems. Ignoring this warning could lead to more significant mechanical failures.
The check gauges warning is an additional warning to the driver that something is not right. If you see this warning, be sure to survey all the indicators on your instrument panel...especially oil pressure and engine temperature. If you see anything you're not sure of, err on the side of safety and pull off the road, shut down the engine and seek help.
