If your Ford Contour won't exceed 55 mph, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include a clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or problems with the ignition system, such as worn spark plugs or ignition coils. Additionally, transmission issues or a malfunctioning throttle position sensor could also restrict acceleration. It's best to have a mechanic diagnose the problem to ensure proper repairs.
Your 2000 Ford Contour cannot reverse because of a transmission failure problem.
ford 99 contour will not start, front wheel is in lock position. how do you fix the anti- lock system
hohohohoho
You have a flat battery! Check that your batter terminals are connected
You may have a weak or dead battery.
The first thing I would check is your crankshaft position sensor
They should be coded. On mine the relay is the green one under the hood.
Make sure you did not put it in backwards.
Usually it is fatal. (for the engine) It will most likely cease up. The valves, lift and everything will be all out of time and start slamming into eachother. If it does go out then the engine wont run. it wont do much of anything.
1st gear is gone get your check book out and rebuild it! LOL more than likely a rebuild is the fix assuming it is standard it wont be to expensive!
Sounds like my same problem. It was the Camshaft position sensor. Hope this helps.
You may have the wires for your horn crossed with the battery wire. This would cause the horn to go off any time the battery is connected.
