Sounds like my same problem. It was the Camshaft position sensor. Hope this helps.
have you checked the fuses?
your car being broke get it checked out
Yes
Yes, if the timing belt broke or skipped, the engine won't start.
Have the timing checked,it sounds like your timing is out, also check your distributor cap and rotor, good luck,Frank
The ignition timing on Contour engines is controlled by the computer, and is not adjustable. However, if you're talking about the 4-cylinder 2.0 liter, it uses a timing belt for the cams, and if it is worn and slips a tooth, it would cause some real problems. (The 2.5 liter V6 isn't subject to this, as it uses a timing chain for the cams.)
yes
Sounds like maybe the timing belt/timing chain broke or jumped. If it will not run at all, I'd guess broke.
most snapped timing belts will in most cases cause engine damage, the only exception would be a freewheeling engine were valve to piston contact would be minimal an interference type engine would cause damage.
If you think your Timing Belt broke DO NOT try to crank your car, if you continue to crank you car with a severed timing belt you will cause more damage. The only way you can tell for sure if the timing belt broke is to remove the upper timing cover and inspect the belt. If you see a naked cam sprocket your timing belt has broken and you will most likely need a top end engine rebuild.
It can if it isn't delivering enough fuel to the engine. More than likely you need to have your timing checked.
try using a higher grade of gasolineif that dosent work takeit in to have your timing checked.
