Its a safety Feature for you do not break your glass.
If you have a remote...press the car icon. The window should swing up and then you take the door by the handle and open it.
It's right under the Jeep logo on the lift gate.
open the back gate on the liberty and there will be nuts there- remove with nut driver or socket and carefully swing out lens- will be sticky so be careful!
Yes, it has one. Is there a question?
Is the key fob on the remote not activating it, or is it that you can't open the swing gate manually? The remote batteries might be shot, if it's not working, or the electric actuator to unlock the door might be bad or loose wiring. The rear window is all that is suppose to actually pop open when you hit the remote, then the swing gate is supposed tp unlock automatically, not pop open also. Hard to tell what's wrong with the vague question? Give us more details, and maybe someone will be able to better help you. Good Luck.
The light on a Jeep Liberty gate typically indicates that the rear liftgate is either open or not fully closed. This warning light serves as a reminder for the driver to ensure the gate is securely shut before driving. If the light remains illuminated despite the gate being closed, it may signal an issue with the gate's latch or sensor that may require inspection.
The computer thinks the liftgate is open.
TRY PUSHING IN ON THE GATE WHILE LIFTING HANDLE..THIS SHOULD RELEASE THE PRESSURE AND IT SHOULD OPEN.
I just pops out
there are 2 torx head screws that hold the tail light on. you will need to open the back gate to get to them. then there are two snap connectors that hold the tail light to the body. you will need to pull straight back torward the rear of the jeep to get these to come loose.
The thermostat is probably stuck in the open position.
