For the Reverse problem, you could have low Transmission Fluid, or a bad transmission.
For starting in drive, just about every modern car will not start when the transmission is in gear. They will only start in Park or Neutral. This is a safety feature to prevent the car from taking off into someone or something when started.
If your 1997 Ford Taurus won't go into reverse, there may be a problem with your transmission. You can try checking your levels, but you need to take it to a mechanic.
Begin by removing the cable from the bottom of your 1997 Ford Taurus antenna. Remove the antenna retaining nuts. Reverse the process to install your new antenna.
On a 1997 Ford Taurus : The transaxle ( transmission for a front wheel drive vehicle ) is located in the engine compartment bolted to the engine
were is the shift module on a 1997 Ford Taurus
That will depend entirely on the make and year of the vehicle. I just recently bought a complete CV drive shaft for a 1997 Taurus and it cost me $ 89,
Shift it on 2H, then "REVERSE" for about 10 to 15 Feet....
there it is http://mywiperblades.com/1997-ford-taurus-wipers.htm
No. It's rear wheel drive vs. front wheel drive. Engines will not match.
i have a 92 s-10 blazer and it has no reverse Andy ideas?. it will go in to drive and shift in to all the gears..but will no go into reverse? can u help me
I purchased a 1997 Ford Taurus on July 15, 2008. Drove it home. The next day everything was going fine until I stopped at a traffic light, When I pushed the gas pedal, it was just as if I had the gearshift in neutral. I pulled the gearshift all the way down into low(1), same reaction, like it was in neutral. I put it in reverse and it started to back up. Then I put it in drive and off we go. It worked, but this was just the beginning of two more puzzling incidents. I feel if I can get the right answer to the 1st problem it wll also be the solution to the next two things that happened.
On a 1997 Ford Taurus the thread on cap on the engine coolant reservoir is the pressure cap / radiator cap
Time for a rebuild.
