the power streeig pump is going out Check the fluid level of the Power Steering pump first. It could simply be low on fluid. When the unit starts to fail you will loose power assisted steering. I dont think you are at that point. Start with the cheap solutions first. hope this helps. "G"

This vehicle is notorious for a "whining" noise. The slower you drive, the louder it is. At first I thought our power-steering pump was going, or the transmission was whining.
