Yes, a clogged catalytic converter can lead to fouled spark plugs. When the converter is obstructed, it can cause increased exhaust backpressure, leading to incomplete combustion and unburned fuel entering the exhaust system. This excess fuel can then accumulate on the spark plugs, resulting in fouling, which can affect engine performance and efficiency.
bad fuel injectors, bad timing, bad spark plugs and wires, clogged catalytic converter.
If the car has high miles, try checking the catalytic converter. If it is clogged it will cause the vehicle to lose power.
Poor acceleration can be due to: Improper spark plug gap (too wide), and/or breakdown of the spark plugs' inner electrical connectors-- (worn plugs). A clogged fuel filter. A clogged catalytic converter in your exhaust system.
clogged filter, carbon in the intake, foul spark plugs, dirty injectors, or engine failure!! This may be something to do with the catalytic converter. Check for a recall.
Clogged air filter, defective O2 sensor, clogged catalytic converter, bad plugs and or plug wires, poor driving technique to name a few possible causes.
Could easily be the catalytic converter plugged. With it running, put your hand over the exhaust pipe. The exhaust should puff past your hand, you should not be able to close the pipe off completely.
lack of tune- up change your engine oil, air filter, spark plug wires, and spark plugs. In addition you may have a clogged catalytic converter, partially clogged fuel filter, or weak fuel pump.
Partially clogged catalytic converter, automatic transmission problem, spark plugs/wires need replacing, partially clogged fuel filter, week fuel pump, and other emissions related problems.
check you distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, battery, and alternator if its not there its more internal. also make sure your catalytic converter is not clogged.
You lose power, engine can't breathe.
No, but bad spark plugs or plug wires sure can.
A clogged catalytic converter? Or some other exhaust pipe obstruction. Try removing an O2 sensor on the exhaust and see if it accelerates then, if it does, your catalytic converter could very well be clogged. Also, if your EGR valve isn't working properly, it will cause your engine to stall out. Hope this helps.
