Two of the wires are mixed up. The result is that two cylinders are attempting to fire at the wrong time. It can result in the popping sound when the cylinder fires at the wrong time.

Is it coming from the front? If so then it is a lower ball joint. If you're not too machanicaly inclined, I would recommend taking it to an automotive shop.
Have you checked the computer codes? If so, what do they say?
It can be a defective CVC-joint or other things. Have it inspected by a qualified mechanic and they will find the cause of the popping noise.
if its a quiet type popping that comes out of their mouth or nose then they are congested. Possibly because of poor habitat cleanliness or they are coming down with a respiratory infection.

According to Dr. Eric Dibble, the popping sound you hear isn't actually coming from the water lilies. The sound is produced by fish, often sunfish, feeding off the lilies. The suction action of their mouths cause popping noise.
It is residual energy, i believe. It could also be spirits.
