∙ 10y agoAll but John Adams served for two 4-year terms. George Washington's first term was about a month short, since there was a delay of about a month in getting the new government up and running.
Virginia. John Adams was from Massachusetts; Washington, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe were from Virginia.
The first five presidents established many of the protocols and precedents practiced today. Without them, many of these practices would have been quite different.
Five of them were 51, and five of them were 54.
