There was no "midevil science" In fact science was based on illogical philosophy and thinking. The Catholic Church didn't allow science because it went against their teaching. They taught that the earth was the center of the universe and that God communicated only through the church. Misinformation ruled the world and superstitious thinking was the science. Medical education wasn't allowed to view the human body in any form. If a woman went to the doctor for a problem she couldn't undress. To get information about the human body there was a business in robbery of fresh graves and selling the bodies to doctors through the back door of medical schools. The bodies were put into barrels filled with whiskey to preserve the body. This where the term " rot gut liquor" began. Medical treatments included things like Mercury and urine and people were bled to get rid of the illness ( this generally killed them.) There was a belief in witches and the supernatural causing illness and it was thought the night air was bad for people (that's why curtains were around beds). There was no knowledge about germs or bacteria and this will continue through the 1800's. All of this is one reason in the 1300's that when the plague hit Europe that they didn't know the causes of the disease or how to cure it. This resulted in places like Venice Italy putting sick people on an island and letting them die there. Purification of water was also unknown and most water was taken from polluted rivers and streams so people got sick. The world of midevil Europe was dirty, stinky, and filled with death because there was no belief in science and the religion ruled the thinking.
