No side.

He was an Abolitionist fanatic, not at all representative of the North as a whole.

His actions led the South to believe that the North was in favour of an armed rebellion of slaves, and that war was inevitable.

Who might be upset by John Brown's actions and reactions for taking action?

John Brown's violent actions against slavery, particularly his raid on Harpers Ferry, likely upset pro-slavery advocates who viewed him as a radical and a terrorist threatening their way of life. Additionally, moderate abolitionists might have been concerned that his tactics would provoke backlash against the anti-slavery movement and lead to increased violence. Finally, some members of the general public may have disapproved of his willingness to resort to violence, believing in a more peaceful approach to social change.

What lead by John Winthrop became a theocracy?

The lead by John Winthrop that resulted in a theocracy was the establishment of the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630. Winthrop, a Puritan leader, envisioned the colony as a "city upon a hill," with a government closely aligned with Puritan religious principles. This theocratic system meant that church leaders held significant power, and laws were based on religious doctrine, effectively intertwining governance and faith.

Who lead the fight against the tariff of abominations?

The man most against it was Vice-President John C. Calhoun who resigned his post in order to run for the Senate. Andrew Jackson signed the bill for this tariff which was a reduction over the tariff of 1828. It was mostly written by ex-President John Quincy Adams. I do not know of any past or future presidents who actively were against it.

What happened at Harpers Ferry Virginia?

Under the alias of Issac Smith, John Brown, bought a farm in Maryland. Brown, who was intensely against slavery, led an attack on the Federal arsenal in Virginia. His goal was to free the slaves in that State and perhaps start a slave rebellion. The arsenal had the weapons John Brown needed. He was captured by Federal troops and later hanged for treason against the State of Virginia. The Virginia Governor, Henry Wise, was the individual who actually charged Brown with treason. Brown became a martyr for the anti slavery movement in the North.
