emily davison is a very famous suffragette that threw herself in front of a the kings horse, amner, at the epsom derby in 1913.
Emily Davison walked in front of the kings horse in the derby of 1913 to get the right for women to vote as she was a suffragette member.
Emily Wilding Davison
Probably the best known was Emmiline Pankhurst. Or maybe Emily Davison who threw herself in front of the Kings race horse.
I think it was the year a suffraget threw herself in front of the Kings Horse just after Tattenham corner and killed herself.
the suffragettes had many different actions: heckling at meetings deliberately getting sent to prison and while going to prison they went on hunger strike to get the message across. they were forced fed by the government Emily Davison threw herself infront of the kings horse at the national derby. while trying to pin the suffragette medal on the horse.
In 1913 a sufferagette named Emily Davison was said to throw herself under the kings horse. In fact she broke through the barriers whilst he was racing and tried to hang a votes for women sash around the horse neck. This failed miserably as the horse trampled on her which lead to her death.
King George owned a few horses. One was "Anmer", a racing horse brought to the ground but miraculously unharmed by a suffragette in a 1913 derby.
Horse race. I'm not sure if it was the Derby or an Ascot race, but you could probably find the details on one of the many suffragette websites by typing in English Suffragettes, or Emeline Pankhurst.
A_Person">Emily Davison was.... A PersonWho died in a savage attempt to kill herself (this worked). She was killed on June 8th at Derby. emily davison didnt mean to get hit by the kings horse emily was trying to pin the suffragette medal on the kings horse but she missed and so she got hit by the horse and had really bad injurys and she died in hospital 4 days later on the 8th june. :(
I "think" it is Emily Davison. though i maybe wrong =S no no, you're right. she stepped in front of King George V's horse running in the Epsom Derby, she died from her injuries four days later. she was trying to disturb the Derby and make her cause known rather than commit suicide. it didn't work however as the MPs thought that they could not give women the vote while they believed they were silly enough to throw them self under a horse.
