Best Answer

Senefru first king of Egypt of the 4th dynasty (c.2575-c. 2465 BC). He fostered the evolution of the highly centralized administration that marked the climax of the Old Kingdom.

Snefru came from a family in Middle Egypt, near Hermopolis, and probably ascended the throne by marrying the royal heiress, his predecessor's daughter. Records of his reign are sparse, but it is clear from extensive cemeteries around his own and his son's pyramids that he strongly supported the policy of appointing members of the royal family to the highest administrative offices. The office of vizier became especially important, and its holders were princes very close to the succession.
