• Undertake field research to promote the conservation of wildlife and Natural Resources in India.

• Provide technical and financial support to research programmes and other activities that encourage the conservation of wildlife and natural resources.

• Develop and advocate participatory management and conservation programmes for the restoration of wildlife and ecosystems.

• Promote sustainable use of natural resources, equitable development and the maintenance of cultural and traditional attributes of indigenous communities.

• Develop strategies and schemes to promote alliances among national and international stakeholders to strengthen capacities, abilities and skills for the management and conservation of wildlife and their habitats.

• To publish and disseminate information on wildlife and natural resources.

• Institute awards, fellowships and grants for people engaged in wildlife conservation activities and research.

A. Raising public awareness to this important issue;

B. Enacting laws to protect wildlife;

C. Creating more wildlife sanctuaries; and

D. Creating more Forest Ranger jobs with good pay.
