Many thousands of years ago, the early humans called, "Neanderthals" (nee-AND-er-talls were very careful about protecting the environment. For example, a Neanderthal hunting party would go after their prey, say a buffalo or other large animal, and through clever tactics, kill that animal to provide them with food, heat, coverings and clothes.
Next came the Cro-Magnon (crow-MAN-yunn) man. These people would drive a herd of buffalo or other animal over a cliff to kill them, and then use just one or two of the many dead beasts.
We don't have any written or verbal history that would hint at what point the Neanderthals started caring about nature.
Humans have likely cared about nature and its resources since prehistoric times, as they relied on the environment for food, shelter, and other essentials. As civilization developed, different cultures and societies have shown varying degrees of concern for nature, with movements promoting environmental conservation emerging in the late 19th and 20th centuries.
Humans have existed for only about 0.2% of Earth's history, which is approximately 200,000 years out of Earth's 4.5 billion-year history. This indicates that humans are a relatively recent addition to the planet.
Humans appeared about 65 million years after the extinction of the dinosaurs, during the Paleolithic era, around 2.5 million years ago.
Humans have been burning wood for cooking food for thousands of years. The exact year is not known, but it is believed to have started in prehistoric times when early humans discovered fire.
Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, discussed in his book "On the Origin of Species," was published in 1859. This theory outlines the concept of natural selection as the mechanism for evolutionary change in species. It does not specifically posit a "monkey theory," as this can be a simplification or misinterpretation of his work.
Homo sapiens is a largely biological designation and science does not allow issues of spirit to tread upon it. But the world is changing quickly. Issues of the spirit are on the rise and the next stage of human evolution already has some names floating around: homo spiritus homo sanctus It's a change in which either science, or common perception dictates that we do have spirits, and are divine, destined for immortality. http://www.paep.ca/en/CIYL/2002/doc/peck_homo_sapiens.pdf
