vehicle has a aoutomatic transmission
For a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick, the neutral safety switch is typically located inside the transmission, mounted on the transmission case. This switch prevents the vehicle from starting unless the transmission is in neutral or park. If you're experiencing issues with starting, it may be necessary to inspect or replace the switch, which sometimes requires removing the transmission for access. Always refer to a service manual for specific instructions regarding your vehicle.
Not a chance.
The neutral safety switch is located on the transmission.
No you can not. The 98 computer is not programed to shift the 89 transmission. Besides that your wiring harness on the 98 will not hook up to the 89 trans. You need to go back with the factory 4L80E trans. That belongs in the 98.
yes it will ,but use the torque converter from 89 trans
No, Not on that year. That trans. is computer controled.
Dealership can tell you. There's a good chance you have the C6 transmission.
Even if it does bolt up, that transmission for the 3.8 isn't rated to handle the torque output of a 5.0. You don't want to make this transmission swap unless you're in the mood to make another one again in the near future.
If your Cherokee isn't functioning right in reverse then you may have a bad transmission. You should contact a professional about having it rebuilt.
Yes
Yes it will bolt up, but it will not shift. The computer in the 89 model is not programed to make the 97 transmission work. You will have nothing but problems. And the 89 don't have the wiring harness for the 97 trans.
