low oil pressure could be one cause cold oil is heavier in viscoity and as it warms it gets thinner, the lifters are not getting the oil inside of them causing them to colaspe
try having a new oil pump installed
I would not worry to much about this noise when the motor is cold; engines have clearanaces that come together at operating temperature. If this noise happens when the motor is at operating temperature then you might have a problem.
faulty lifters at the best will rattle, at the worst they will not lift the valves properly . valves not opening and closing properly will greatly interfere with the proper running of the engine.can also cause a push rod to come loose and fall into the engine, breaking or bending other parts
It could be the cause of the knock only if the gasket was bad and leaked out almost all the oil.
Litering
By replacing the chain and tensioners.
The most common cause of lifters knocking is low oil pressure.
Could be the timing is a little fast.
no installig a starter wrong will not cause engine knocking. all that will do is maybe short fuses, heat up wires, ruin your starter, or melt wires. knocking isn't electrical it is mechanical like lifters, pistons, valves, things like that
Rods and Rocker arms were the problem with my Malibu after changing lifters
Its ur lifters I have the.same.prob one of.ur.valves isn't getting that much oil
Squeaky brakes, sticky lifters engine knocking . Please be a little more specific.
Exhaust leaks, bent pushrod
Cheap gas
Could be, Out of adjustment Worn camshaft Worn lifters Worn pushrods Worn rockers All of the above.
a broken valve spring could be the cause, or a lifter. Start by checking the compression for the number 8 cylinder, then remove the valve cover to inspect the rockers and lifters.
The engine on your 04 5.3L Chevy Tahoe could be knocking until it warmed up because of a bad fuel-air mixture. . The wrong oil could also be a cause.
