I had the same thing happen to me, I slightly bent it and took it off. I pinched it in and clipped it back in, seems to work. The issue I am having is that it was ripped originally so now it scratches, but that was a previous thing from someone else's attempt.

Are you sure it's not the switch. But I have taken off lots of Mercedes door panels. There should be a couple of panels that need to be popped off first to access some screws.
