Asking a question shows a high level of intellect as one has problem solved a situation - Answering a question is a supportive function engaging in skills such as working as a team and skill building - < also depends on the question, there are some real bad ones on here.

Why don't you answer every question?
Well, I can't possibly. I don't have the time. All the people who work and volunteer here also don't have the time, even if all of us contributed 12 hours a day ... which is why we are always in need of people like you to jump in and help us answer questions. There are unanswered questions about almost everything, so whatever you like or are interested in, there are probably questions here that you could research and answer. Or some simple ones that you might just know off the top of your head.
Why are there only answers to obvious questions on Answers.com?
Answers here are created by normal people like you and me. We are not supercomputers or robots that know everything. The more difficult questions require someone who knows a lot about that subject, and it is rare that they will stumble across that question and be able to answer it. I just skim through the unanswered questions and answer the ones I know off the top of my head or the ones that I can seach online and get an answer to in a few seconds. Yeah but what about questions that ask for oppinions? youre not necessarily required to be knowledgeable to answer that type of question.
Why don't people answer the questions?
There are several reasons people don't answer the questions. 1) They are the ones asking the question. 2) They do not know the answer to the question. 3) They don't know that they CAN answer questions, or how to answer a question. 4) They have more important things to be doing than answering questions for people who could have just used Google or their brain.
