I am compelled to ask you why you would want to paint a bee hive? If it is an unused bee hive any oil based paint or clear coat will work. However, if you are thinking about destroying a living hive I beg you to reconsider. At present we have lost 1/3 of all the nations bee hives and the number grows with each passing day. After two years of intense study researchers have found that all the big insecticide manufacturing companies are producing a nicotine based insecticide for the country's fruit and vegetable crops that has been shown to kill our life sustaining bee population, and they have no plans to stop or even slow down its use. Any idea what this life would be like without the pollinators we need so much? Do you like fruit? Do you like vegetables? Do you like nuts of any kind? That is just the start. We need the bees. Try doing a search under "bee hive die off" You'd be amazed what the main stream media will not tell you.
If you use a quality primer like Kilz or Bullseye, you should be OK.
There are no advantages to using polyurethane paint, the best paint to use is latex, because of it's ease of use, clean-up and durability I've used polyurethanes on concrete floors in a high traffic area, but I agree they're not appropriate for houses.
Yes, you can put polyurethane paint over eggshell in latex or eggshell in oil.
I recently painted my land rover using polyurethane paint with rollers. Tho I say so myself I was very pleased with the result. Colin
Yes, you can use polyurethane on painted glass. It is recommended to use the spray rather than dip though because it will be easier. +++ Test on a small, discreet area first to ensure the polyurethane's solvent won't attack the paint.
Depends what the beehives are made off - you don't tell us that important fact.
Because it will impart a yellow cast to the paint surface.

Yes, you can,and it's very good for that use. However if the concrete is bare, you must apply an epoxy primer before the polyurethane finish.
It isn't so much the type of paint, its the finish on the paint, you want a tough durable finish for a Bangle. TIP: if you use a oil based enamel, use a oil based polyurethane finish, if you use a water based enamel, use a water based polyurethane, Make it a rule of thumb and you will never have bubbling or peeling problems.

Yes, as long as the polyurethane is oil-based.
Yes, you can.
Yes, both oil and water-based polyurethanes will adhere well to an item coated with acrylic paint. If it is a polyurethane paint, dull the surface prior to painting. If it is a clear. realize that that oil based polyurethane will impart an amber hue while a water based polyurethane is crystal clear and will not affect the color.
