I am compelled to ask you why you would want to paint a bee hive? If it is an unused bee hive any oil based paint or clear coat will work. However, if you are thinking about destroying a living hive I beg you to reconsider. At present we have lost 1/3 of all the nations bee hives and the number grows with each passing day. After two years of intense study researchers have found that all the big insecticide manufacturing companies are producing a nicotine based insecticide for the country's fruit and vegetable crops that has been shown to kill our life sustaining bee population, and they have no plans to stop or even slow down its use. Any idea what this life would be like without the pollinators we need so much? Do you like fruit? Do you like vegetables? Do you like nuts of any kind? That is just the start. We need the bees. Try doing a search under "bee hive die off" You'd be amazed what the main stream media will not tell you.
