Some paints are formulated with a non-stick additive that causes flat paints to release stains as well as a regular eggshell and some satin paints. They cost more, but if you want a no or low sheen surface, they are well worth it for their washability and scrubbability.
If you have the satin, you can add flat paint and take some of the sheen off. This would have to be done before application. It will never be a true flat though.

I LIKE FLAT PAINT. IT IS CHEAPER AND EASIER TO CLEAN. TEXTURED PAINT IS HARDER TO CLEAN BECAUSE OF THE GROOVES IT CREATES. THIS IS WHY I HIGHLY RECOMMEND FLAT PAINT.
