Caution Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury.

After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines or connections. In order to reduce the chance of personal injury, cover the regulator and the fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Caution Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator mounting screw.

Disconnect the air cleaner outlet resonator clamp at the throttle body.

Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from air cleaner outlet resonator and air cleaner assembly.

Disconnect the crankcase vent hose clamp and the crankcase vent hose from the top of the engine.

Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.

Remove the fuel rail bracket.

Remove the fuel injector electrical connectors by pushing in the wire connector clip and pulling the electrical connector away from the fuel injector.

Remove the fuel feed inlet pipe quick connect.

Remove the fuel return pipe from the fuel pressure regulator.

Remove the fuel rail attaching bolts.

Remove the fuel rail assembly from the cylinder head.

Remove the fuel injector retaining clip.

Remove the fuel injector.

Important Visually inspect the fuel injector to see if the upper O-ring was also removed, if not, remove the O-ring from the fuel rail assembly.

Remove the vacuum hose at the fuel pressure regulator.

Remove the Camshaft Position sensor electrical connector.

Remove the fuel injector electrical connector retaining clips.

Remove the injector electrical connectors.

Remove the fuel inlet pipe at the fuel rail. (Use a backup wrench on the fuel rail inlet fitting to prevent it from turning).

Remove the fuel pipe retainer clip nut (if so equipped).

Remove the fuel pipe retainer clip bolt.

Remove the fuel rail attaching bolts.

Lift the fuel rail assembly from the cylinder head.

Loosen the fuel return pipe retaining bracket attaching screw. (Rotate the retaining bracket to allow fuel pipe to be removed.)

Remove the fuel return pipe (2) from the fuel pressure regulator.

Remove the inlet and the return pipe assemblies. Discard O-ring.

Remove the fuel rail assembly.

Remove the upper intake, remove the metal holddown and pull up while twisting with a pair of pliers. There will be 2 o rings that come with it, or sometimes get stuck in the rail. Make sure you pull out both rings or the new one will not seal properly.

Well, if it's a 4.3 you are talking about it's not too bad of a job to do . If you are automotively incline it should take about a hour .The injectors are hiding under the plenim cover on the top of you engine . You have to disconnect and move off to the sides everthing that is in the way of removing the plenim cover . I didn't have to disconnect the throttle cable though , you just have to be gentle when you lift the cover up . Once you have the cover up you will see the six little tubes (one for each injector ) . The injectors are held in place by two clips that you squeeze to remove the injector from the intake manifold . Hope this helps . It's easier to do it than to explain it .
