First you have to jack it up and stabilize it. remove the rear diff pan. turn the carrier until you find the bolt holding the main pin in place. It will take a 5/16 wrench to remove it. Slide the main pin out. Push the axles in from the outside. remove the axle clips on the ends of the axles. Slide the axles all the way out. Now you have two options. they make a slide hammer that will remove the bearing at the end of the housing. it's avaible at any good parts store. just follow the instructions. the other way is to take a long rod and insert it in the housing from the other side and drive the bearing and seal out by striking the rod with a hammer. Now that they are out, I would suggest replacing both sides with new seals. Put it all back together and refill with grease and your done. Luck, Dude.
The Honda accord rear will bearing should be torqued at 60 pounds. You can ruin the wheel bearing or the wheel seal if you over torque the wheel bearing nut.
It is the same thing as a pilot bearing. Goes into the rear of the crankshaft to support the input shaft of the transmission.
Front or rear?
There should not be any slack in the your wheel bearings. The more slack the will bearing has the quicker the will bearing will fail.
I have had to do this. This process is generally the same for any car. 1 Take off the wheel with the bad bearing. 2 Remove the caliper 3 Behind the caliper is the end of the axel. Inside of it, you will see a circular shaped object lined with bearings. Just pull it out. You usually have to replace the what I'm pretty sure is called the rase. Basically, this is a metal liner that sits between the bearing and the inside of the axel. This is not easy to get out! I'm sure there is some special tool you can borrow from an automotive store. They usually loan these kinds of things out for free. If you can't get this liner out by yourself, you might consider having a mechanic put new bearings on for you.

you dont
it all depends on which wheel bearing you are trying to replace. for your front wheel bearings you have to remove the brakes, and axel. then you have to have a new bearing pressed into the housing. for a rear wheel bearing most of the time you can only purchase a pre packaged hub assembly. to replace that remove the brakes then remove the four bolts located on the rear of the hub assembly and it should come right off.
