Their credit it private. Therefore your reason to check must be stated and you must pay a fee to do this to the credit institution. Many rental managers charge this fee to the applicant/rentor.

IF you filled out an application to rent their place...they have the right and really..the obligation to there family and mortgage holder.... to check your references. They can also ask you for a copy of your credit report. There are many companies out there that will run background/credit reports/etc for landlords to assist them in this matter. If you don't provide enough information for them to make an informed decision that they feel comfortable with...then maybe they shouldn't rent to you. Landlords can also check a potential renter's history at AboutTenants.com. It was launched in 2008 so it is new, but has significant potential for landlords. It is a free sight (though does require registration for full access) that allows landlords to prepare reports on tenants and view reports that other landlords have completed. The reports are in a yes/no format so they are easy to complete, professional and unbiased. If your tenant has been added to the database, when you are taking applications you can check the information provided by the tenant to the information reported by prior landlords. It is similar to a reference but more detailed. The idea is that if enough landlords fill out tenant reports, people that rent long term will have a history, with reports that have been completed by many different landlords over many years. Prior landlords note whether or not they would rent to this tenant again, whether the security deposit was refunded or how the security deposit was used, whether there is an outstanding balance owed to the landlord, whether the landlord had to evict the tenant or obtain a judgement, etc. This could be really useful when evaluating whether or not to rent to them!

Get a reference from their last place where they lived, how long they were employed, a copy of their paystub, and if you have their S.I.N you can call the credit bureau,.

Where can you find no credit check apartments in columbia south carolina?

Unfortunately all apartment complexes check for credit but some of them will work with you. They may charge you one or two months rent as a security deposit to ensure that you wont break your lease or refuse payment. I would try to rent from a private person if you don't want your credit ran by an apartment complex.

Finding out maximun landlord can charge rent?

Check your local tenant/landlord laws. Generally, they can charge what they want--it is a matter of what the market will bear. They own the property and it is their choice, with some guidelines about exclusions, as to who they will rent to and what the terms of the lease are.

Can you rent an apartment without a cosigner?

Most places are going to want assurances that you are working and can pay the rent. Most rental agencies run a credit check, but it isn't a requirement, it is their procedure that determines what happens.

How do you rent an apartment if you have crappy or no credit?

It's difficult, but many landlords just want to rent the empty space and you might get lucky enough they won't check you out and ask for first and last months rent. Good luck Marcy I speak from personal experience. I was just on an apartment hunt and I have a very poor credit rating (we're talking a couple of charge offs and late payments galore, not that I'm bragging by any means), not to mention that I am fresh out of college with no real job security. I was even able to go through a realtor and secured an apartment with the assistance of someone called a "guarantor". This is basically a co-signer assuring that your rent will be paid and they won't get stuck with someone who bailed on the lease. However, this person is also responsible if you are not timely with your payments so don't screw your guarantor over it WILL affect their credit!! Well let me tell you I have bad credit and it is hard, however you should not get disgaraged at all. I went to one of those places were they get the apartment in their company name and you pay them 20% of the rent...After doing that for about an year I realized I was throwing extra money down the drain. I applied for an apartment in my own name and got approved, however it was not a place that I would have chosen but it was my own place in my own name. Right now I having a hard time getting something that I really like with all the ammenities for a good price and decent with my poor credit that is what I am having a hard time with. Because them old rank places would approve you its they good decent places that are hard on you.

Can I use only my credit score to rent an apartment if my husband has a bad one?

Your credit score is one part of your rental application, and it's important to know that landlords will usually check all three credit bureaus when considering an applicant. If you have a low credit score, you may want to ask your husband to cosign on the lease with you. This will help improve your chances of being approved for the apartment you want.

Where can you find some where to live where they dont do credit checks?

If you are looking to live alone, you should try to rent someone's place who owns it. They might not want to go through the trouble of a credit check. You could also just rent a room in a house or apartment, they probably won't do a check. Last resort is be up front with the landlord regarding your credit. That way it's not such a shock. Worse that can happen is that you will have to pay a higher deposit, which if you take care of the place, you'll get most of it back when you leave.

Can I get a credit card with little or no credit?

You don't necessarily need credit to get a credit card, it's bad credit that they don't want to give you a credit card. If you have a cell phone bill, or utility bill or pay rent, you should have some kind of credit.
