i did ths in art class. make a picture with the glue.then put the sand on there.you can use different types of sand colors.to make different color. mix the sand with paint to make it different colors.

1) the act of sanding paint, using a sandpaper (or other commercially available preparation) to smooth the surface of the paint, before or between coats to give tooth to the surface and/or to achieve a visibly smoother surface and "cleaner" finish.
2) adding a texture (Sharkskin is one brand) to the paint before you apply it to a surface such as stair treads and porch floors to increase traction.
