Someone can minimize the chances of a wiper arm being detached by making sure some water is sprinkled on the windshield while operating the wipers. The water provides some lubrication for the wipers to move easily.
Wiper arms cannot be repaired, only replaced. The arm should come off by removing the nut at the bottom of the arm and the washer sprayer hose
There is a square button where the wiper attaches to the wiper arm. Press the button and slide the wiper until it stops, about half an inch. Pull the arm away from the windshield and rotate the wiper slightly and it will unlock pull away from the wiper arm. No special tools required. Replacements are Anco Contour C24BB (one side) and C19BB (other side) or Valeo 900-24-9B & 900-19-7B. Other brands are available as well. I don't have prints, but you take off the wiper arms and the vent cover across the truck below the windshield and there is the wiper assembly. The vent cover is held on with screws along the front edge in the engine compartment. If it is just the arm where it mounts on the assembly, you could always use some JB weld or epoxy and make it permanent.

Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through.

To replace the wiper arm on a Mazda 626, first lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it is at a 90-degree angle. Locate the small tab or clip on the underside of the wiper arm where it attaches to the wiper motor shaft, press it to release the arm. Carefully pull the wiper arm off the shaft, then align the new wiper arm with the shaft and push it down until it clicks into place. Finally, lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield and ensure it is secure.
Remove the wiper arm retaining clip. The retaining clip will be just below the wiper arm connection. Hold the retaining clip in and the wiper arm will come off.

look at the half circle clip on the side of wiper arm. lift the wiper arm and pull the clip out as far as it goes the wiper arm should rest on the clip and now be "locked" up in the air . now you should be able to remove the wiper arm
The rear window wiper arm will have a retaining clip at the bottom of the wiper arm. Hold the retaining clip in with two fingers and pull outward on the rear wiper arm.

A wiper arm on a 2001 Honda Civic is screwed on. To remove it unscrew the mounting hardware and take off the wiper arm.
Lift wiper arm up off windshield it will only go a few inches then stick small screwdriver thru small holes at base of wiper arm to keep tension off and the arm should pull right off worked really easy.
