It depends on what type of clay you are using. If you are using clay for pottery and such then you will need a kilm. If you are using air dry clay there are two ways for you to dry it faster if you are the impatient type or you have to have it dry as fast as you can for a project that is due soon. The first is to use a blow dryer. Use a low setting and keep it about four inches away from the clay. The second way is to dry it in a oven at 200 degrees. If you want the full directions on how to do both then look it up. There are many sights for your type of question. Good luck with your project.
Natural clay is basically the dust formed from rocks that have been worn away by glaciers, frost, rain and rivers over millions of years. It is wet when taken from the ground and is dried by letting warm dry air evaporate the water, such as by leaving the clay in the sun.
take the dry clay and place it in a plastic bin. Then add water until the clay is fully submerged. Wait a few days until it turns into "slop clay." Then remove the Slop clay and place it on a tray. Since it is very mooshy It will need several days to lose some moisture. What you need to do is place a plastic bag over it but not sealing it from the outside air. Make sure to monitor it so that it does not turn leather hard. Once it is in a state in which it can be used to form things your clay is ready to be used again! :)
Treating clay soil with gypsum or lime helps to improve the drainage.

Most of the time, it's still called Clay. After it dries, it is/they are clay bricks.
dry it out
Wet or even damp clay will explode or crack in the kiln as the water tries to escape from the hot pot. It is important to slowly dry the piece to make it safe to fire.
The clay must slowly, completely dried. If it is still wet inside of the wall of the pot or sculpture then the resulting steam may cause the piece to explode. One good way to tell if it is dry is to hold it to your face. If it feels cool (from the evaporation), then it is still wet. If you try to dry the piece too rapidly, you can create cracks do to the uneven shrinkage of the clay.

Your question needs to be more specific for us to answer, for instance is the clay wet or dry, are you talking about geological formations of clay or a lump of potters clay. If you apply hand pressure to a lump of potters clay and the clay is wet it will squeeze (deform) between your fingers. If the clay is dry it will be too firm to deform by hand but if placed in a vice it will crack.......etc.
Sandy soil is dry in comparison to clay due to lack of moisture and consistency. Sandy soil is just not wet.
it would be dry soil because wet soil is heavy . by Madison walker

If there are keys that got wet, and they won't work, try drying them with a blow dryer. You can also attempt to wipe them dry, or take things apart until they dry.
