The brake light switch is located behind the brake pedal. it is easily removed, first disconnect wire couplink ,next unscrew the switch from behind the bracket. there should be a locknut holding it in place. next, put in the new switch the same way the old one came out. make sure that when the break pedal is in released position that the buton on the switch is pressed in. you may have to ajust the switch position to achieve this goal.

if it is a RED brake light on the dash that comes on when you mash the brake pedal , this is indicating a hydralic failure , uselly from low brake fluid caused by leaking master cylinder or calipers or wheel cylinders hope this helps J
If it's the brake light in the boot lid then you have to take the cover off the inside of the boot lid and then you will have access to the light bulbs. If it's the brake light in the rear quarter panel then you open boot lid and unscrew the two bolts holding the light cluster and slide it backwards, then you will have access to the bulbs
if its burnt out, replace it, if not, check the wireing
Open trunk and remove screws that secure light assembly to car. Pull assembly straight back to remove from car. Remove the dead light and replace with proper new light. Install in reverse order of removal.
