ok there are 2 small screws located at the top of the sounding plastic housing. after you take them out removing the housing and locate the 4 screws in the metal bracket around the headlight (2 on top and 2 on bottom. remove them and pull out the headlight. reverse order to put it back
On my 91 Nissan pickup I had to remove the black plastic grill using a screw driver to release the white sqare connectors. It was a tight fit arround the headlights but it finally came off. The bottom of the grill had no connections but just sat in notches. Once off, the 4 small Phillips screws were sprayed with WD-40, these screws hold the head lamp in place. Putting the grill back on after installing the head lights was a challenge. The white square connectors fell off so I use plastic wire ties to install the top of the grill. It worked just fine and the ties are not seen when the hood is down.

I have a '96 Rodeo and I just finished doing it. Locate headlamps, pull the plug out of the back of the headlight. There's a wire harness helping to hold in the headlight, which is just a bulb, and you have to pry it off on top being careful not to let it come out at the bottom. The wire harness will roll back allowing you to grab the back of the bulb and pull it out. Insert new bulb, pull harness back up and snap in. Put the plug into the back of the bulb. There's no screws or bolts to remove, just be careful the harness doesn't come out at the bottom because there's very little room to manuever to try and put it back together.
Raise the hood and disconnect the battery. left light first: remove the air cleaner box. Relax it's only 3 screws using a 10mm socket driver. Press down on the wiring plug clamp until it clicks. Its the black, long thing attached to the light plug. Press it in the middle and it will click when it releases, you will feel it. After it clicks pull the wiring plug straight back until it clears the socket and lay it aside out of the way. There is a circular ring around the light socket. Turn it counter clockwise until it is free. Wiggle the socket and it will come out in your hand. Note the position of the round ring cause it has to go on the new light bulb. Be careful not to touch the new bulb and handle it only by the base. Re-assemble in reverse order. RIGHTY-TIGHTY LEFTY-LOOSEY Right side last. Remove the battery and proceed as above. Replace the battery and connect everything and test the lights. Don't forget to re-set your radio stations cause you lost them all.
***CAUTION***The halogen bulb contains gas under pressure. The bulb may shatter if the gas envelope is scratched or if the bulb is dropped. Handle the bulb carefully. Grasp the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass envelope. è The headlamp bulb should not be removed from the headlamp until just before a replacement bulb is installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time may affect headlamp bulb performance. Contaminants may enter the headlamp where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlamps with the bulb removed from the headlamp. Headlights Removal & Installation 1. Raise and support the hood. 2. Raise the headlamp retainers by pushing rearward and pulling up. 3. If equipped, rotate the headlamp bulb protective counterclockwise and remove. 4. Disconnect the headlamp bulb electrical connector. 5. Remove the headlamp assembly. 6. Rotate headlamp bulb retainer counterclockwise and remove. 7. Remove the headlamp bulb by pulling it straight out with a gentle up-and-down rocking motion. ***WARNING*** Do not touch the glass bulb with your fingers. Oil from your fingers can severely shorten the life of the bulb. If necessary, wipe off any dirt or oil from the bulb with rubbing alcohol before completing installation. To Install; 8. Install a new bulb into the headlamp assembly. 9. Install the headlamp bulb retainer and turn it clockwise to engage the retaining tabs. 10. Attach the bulb electrical connector. 11. If equipped, install the headlamp bulb protective cover. 12. Install the headlamp assembly. è Be sure the headlamp assembly is positioned correctly with the alignment pins inserted into the proper holes and onto the ribs of the reinforcement. 13. Engage the retainers by gently pushing down. 14. Turn the lights on and check the bulb operation.
There's a plastic collar on the backside of the headlight that holds the bulb in place. Twist that collar and the bulb will come out of the headlight housing.
I've also included a how to video below that will show you how to do this.
Hope this helps,
