1st of all the term is Transmission Fluid and 2ndly the transmission does not have a cap. The cap that you are incorrectly referring to is actually the stick you use to monitor the levels of the fluid and its housing is the mechanism you utilize to add transmission fluid if needed. Since you don't know, obviously the vehicle must be running when checking the fluid. The oil cap will say or state oil, however the transmission stick will not. hope I've been some help to you. Good luck.
well simply for any car you can tell by checking the oil or the oil cap. if you see white residue on the cap or on the dipstick you got water in the oil. if you also change the oil you can see water in it. that is simply the only ways you can know. good look with your alero
on opening the bonnet, if u look into the middle of the engine, you will see like a black cap, kind of circular, sticking out a bit, thats it there, be carefull not to tightin it up too much your you will snap it ;)
It should look like a little tower. Look up Tennessee oilers the old football team. It should look like that.
Look first in your owner's manual...hardly any car or truck today uses a 10w oil, and for some engines, the grade is critical to performance. If all else fails, look at the oil fill cap...many times the recommended grade is written right on them.
The D100 probably has the 3 speed standard transmission. If so, it doesn't use gear oil in the transmission. It uses Dextron II or III. The fill plug is found on the side of the transmission about half way up.
You add fluid through the dipstick tube. There is no cap like the oil.
It is a round cap, about 2 or 3 inches in diameter, usually with the word "oil" on it.
there's no way gearbox oil/transmission oil can get in the radiator... only the engine oil can. this usually will happen if the cylinder head is cracked or the cylinder head gasket has failed. However, Transmission fluid can get into your coolant, by means of a corroded internal transmission cooling line, which is inside the radiator of many model automobiles and trucks... it will look somewhat like pepto bismol at the cap..
You put the Transmission Fluid in the Transmission (fill point transmission drip stick tube) and the Oil (fill point Oil Cap) in the Engine.Hope This Helps.
look at the oil fill cap
look on the engine for a cap that says oil
Look at your oil cap. The weight is on the cap.
You put the oil, through the dipstick.
its shiney silver with a 223 cap
Yes, it will be dark brown or almost black.
There is usually a cap on one of the valve covers. There is an oil filler cap, you are just overlooking it. Look closer.
It is a dipstick with a yellow end directly behind the oil dipstick. Pull it out, wipe it off stick it back in and check the level, be sure the engine/transmission is warm. The engine should be running to check the fluid level.
