map is more useful than a globe because it is more convenient to find a place in a map instead of a globe which is like a ball in shape.Plus in a globe the minor towns and roads are not available.So its more accurate.
Flat maps are better than globes because flat maps are more easily transported. They are also easier to use when calculating distances.
A flat world map will allow you to look at the whole earth at one time. It helps people to understand where each country lies in relation to the others. It is easier to measure distances from place to place. You can't fold a globe making it easier to transport or carry.

∙ 10y agoMaps are much more flexible than globes. You can produce very detailed maps of a particular area, such as a specific city, while you could never build, and would not even want to build, a globe that is large enough to show that much detail. Maps can be printed in books, they are easily portable, you can have a hundred different maps each with its own particular region or topic (maps can be political, or can show natural features, or can show demographic features, and so forth) all in one book, while it would be impossibly cumbersome to try to do the same thing with globes.

∙ 10y agoAssume an orange is a globe! Now, peel the orange and try to flatten the skin. It is soon apparent that it is impossible to flatten the skin without leaving large gaps. To make a flat map of the world, means that distortion of some areas is inevitable.
