The temperature actuator motor controls the flow of air through the heater core. The motor is located under the driver's side dash, above the transmission tunnel. It's a little difficult to get to, but not bad. Check heatertreater.net for pictures and what to check for on the actuator motor.

The heater valve actuator for a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant is typically located within the engine compartment, near the firewall, where the heater core is situated. It is often mounted on or near the heater control valve, which regulates the flow of coolant to the heater core. For easier access, you may need to remove certain components or covers in the engine bay. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific details and diagrams.

The factory method requires removal of the dash and heater box to replace the plastic door with another plastic door. HeaterTreater has a new product to repair the 02-08 Explorer without removing the dash, and replacing the door with metal that will outlast the Explorer. Check HeaterTreater.net.
How hard and how do you replace the rear disc brakes on a 2003 Ford explorer? I have replaced a lot of brakes from 60s and 70s to the newest replacements of 91 Ford explorers and 91 Ford f-250s front rotors.

I believe it goes in the front right side of the block on a 4.0 V-6. You have to remove the softplug, but before you do that drain the coolant and then you will be able to install the block heater.
