The remote just connects the starter selenoid with the battery, when it completes the circuit, the engine starts and will run until it runs out of gas or the engine is disabled.
What happened with me was, my car had a Remote Start system installed. It did not give any problem for several months. But, one day, when I tried to start the car manually using a key, the lights on the dashboard would come and go away in 2 seconds and any attempt to start the car by key would have no effect on car: no lights on dashboard, no engine sound, no clicking sound from Engine Starter. It would not start with Remote Start. Also, all the electrical system in the car would stop working. Workshop guy told me that the remote start circuit was wrongly installed and also remote start unit had some issues. I got the whole Remote Start system removed and things are fine since then.

Ground Out When Running means that the wire is grounded when the car is running from the remote start. When you put your key in and press the brake pedal, that line goes back to an Open Circuit (not grounded any more). It is typically used to start things like rear window defrosters, heated seats, heated mirrors when you use the remote to start your car. It could include anything that needs a button pressed and don't come on automatically according to the state they were left in when you turned the car off.

Yes it takes less power to keep pc running than to start and switch off. the life of circuits could drastically reduce in exponential rate if the system is being turned on and off quite often.
Ensure the car is locked by pressing the lock button. You must lock the car with the remote before attempting to start. Also, you must have Remote Start turned on in the personalization menu. Remember the interface is a little wierd but all you do is press the bottom center swith until Remote Start shows, press the lower right (check symbol) button and if it says off, change that to on with the left arrow button/s. Then hit the check symbol once more and remote start will be enabled.

Have someone use your key and start it or install an aftermarket remote starter.
From the company that made the remote start.
