If you have a remote that locks & unlocks your antitheft system it could be as simple as resetting your remote, I had a similar experience.
To clarify just a bit. The doors no longer unlock when car is turned off or when using the keyless entry remote. Using the key and the button on the drivers side door still works with out a problem. Also, the doors will still lock when car is turned on and when the doors are locked using keyless entry remote.
If it won't unlock with the key, this means that the rod from the key tumbler to the door latch has become disconnected or is broken. If you can get the door open, you will need to remove the inside door panel and look in through the holes to see what the problem is.
Check the drivers side switch panel for the switch that locks out the passenger windows from working, make sure it is not on.
U need 2 spray the inside of the power door lock switch with electrical contact cleaner or repair the loose connection on the back of the switch
I dont know why but this same problem at kohls in ct and new York. The car remote works fine any other place
Depends on what part of the locks are not working.. the remote?, the lock button?, a certain door?, the manual lock slider?
Most likely to reprogram the remote you need to take it to a Chevy Dealer and they can do it there... cost ranging from $40-$90...... I had the same problem after replacing the battery & the remote still not working.... I reset the remote by holding down both the lock & unlock buttons @ the same time for about 10-15 seconds.... this resets the locks inside the truck... you should hear the locks lock & unlock if so then your remote should work fine... if not then i suggest taking it to a dealer... hope this helps!
I'm having the same problem. Relays working fine and door locks have some movement, but do not lock or unlock all the way. Hope we find out the problem.
Unknown if you are referring to the keychain 'remote' or the vehicle switch. If the remote: Check the battery in the remote for need of replacement, if it still doesn't work, check the fuse for the auto locks in the vehicle fuse box. If the vehicle switch: check the auto lock fuse in the fuse box, if good then the switch itself is bad.
Is the remote's battery dead?
You can find keyless door locks for domestic properties at Go Keyless online. They sell remote dead bolt locks, remote door knob and remote lever handle locks. They are available to fit any decor in your home.
If you have one remote that is working you can hold down the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until you here the locks cycle open and close, this puts the body control module in the learning mode then you hold the same buttons down on the remote that does not work until the locks cycle again and that should do it.
i am having the same problem with my galant.
My door locks stopped working and I pulled the IOD fuse and reset it back after starting the vehicle. Now all locks work great to include the remote process. The IOD is mapped on the lid of the fuse box.
If you need a new remote, you need to go to the dealer. If you have a remote that isn't working, replace the battery; stand next to your truck and push both "lock" and "unlock" buttons simultaneously until you hear the door locks cycle (about 4 seconds).
check the door lock master switch usually that is the problem
