Looks like the Neutral switch for older model but change name in 1995 but same part, it is under your car on the driver side, look for the transmission pan to give a point...on the side your will see a piece in half-moon with two bolts each side and a connection...easy to remove and replace as only two bolts BUT,But when you change it need to adjust it,,,which necessitate some knowledge and if not done correctly can not only not start but break tranny! Be sure to check all tires for correct pressure. This can make an inch or more difference. If replacement tires, are they the correct factory size? Your owners manual probably has adjustment steps. Also check for loose nuts on the linkage, or for nuts that have worked loose and dropped off.
THe transmission selector is worn, so the need to start it in the neutral position, which still has a workable contact switch, while the park position is worn out. like the other guy said, also you might have to adjust your shift linkage
Never heard of it, it's either linkage or cable. Carburetered vehicles could be linkage or cable operated. Throttle body would be cable operated or even electronically operated. Older transmissions could be linkage and later models would be cable operated.

Begin by removing the Geo Tracker door panel. The entire window mechanism will be visible. The window linkage will have adjustment nuts on each end of the linkage.
Linkage is on the drivers side of trany (about under drivers seat area). May not be adjustable, but if it is then look there for a adjustment rod
