They usually advise you to NOT take out your tongue-stud for at least the first month since your body has just undergone a rather painful experience and had a foreign body inserted into it. When I had mine done for the first 6ish months if I took it out for longer than one hour it would start to close, not dramatically so but enough that I had to push to get it through again. I can't remember how long it was before I could take it out for long periods of time aka overnight but I think over a year.
It's probably because you just got your tongue pierced a few days ago. It is still healing. It'll take a week for the initial swelling and pain to subside, and a little longer for the wound to fully heal. Try not to play with it and swish it around too much.
I think about 3 or 2 months, even in a few weeks. To keep em' pierced, just use an earring to make a hole. It's a whole alota cheapa'
I have had my tongue pierced for about a year now, and never once had a problem with it. I have cavities, and it doesnt make any difference at all. Just make sure you take it out when getting some dental work done [they make ask you to do so anyways].
Man that was dumb! You should never allow an unlicensed person to pierce anything on your body. Do you realize he could have severed a nerve which could make your tongue limp forever? If it is crooked, you should take it out and let it heal. If you really must get your tongue pierced because you want to be an individual who is unique (like everyone else), get it done by a professional! Take it out and have it redone as stated above. However, the issue of actually severing all the nerves in your tongue at once is impossible so that statement was utter bull.
Every person's body is different and requires different healing times. If you just got your conch pierced, the burning sensation will last until the swelling in the area has reduced enough to allow you to lie comfortably on that ear.
No they just create a hole using a hollow needle and insert the piece of jewellery
Nope, i've had my tongue pierced, and i didn't have to take my lip piercing out.
There is no meaning to tongue piercing and there are lots of meaning to tongue piercing, it just depends on what your take is on it. It's normally just a style issue or a very personal issue but no one meaning covers the variables.
a few hours
I heard you have to wait three weeks before you can even take the first tongue ring out. or maybe it was five weeks... but anyway dont take it out for at least 2 weeks and then see what happens. but dont leave it out too long or else it will close up.
I have my Tongue pierced too. I noticed the same cut, Was it self done? I have heard your tongue is the fastest healing part of your body so if you take out the jewelry it should heal right up.

Mine closed in about an hour, so depending on what you're wanting to take it out for, just watch the time.
TAKING THE TONGUE RING OUT BEFORE THE HEALING PROSES ISDANGEROUS AND COULD LEAD TO INFECTION, BE SURE TO WAIT AT LEAST TWO WEEKS TO CHANGE THE PIERCING
Not unless you want to loose the piercing you paid good money for. Look if you take the jewellery out it will close and what is the point in taking it out, it isn't healed yet and wont be for another 6 to 8 weeks.
Well the piercings will not close up completely after that period of time. It can take a year or longer for piercings over a year old to shrink and close.
rinse your mouth out with water and just keep your eye on it, should be fine. You can always call the professional who pierced your tongue if anything should seem odd. chances are, your tongue would be swollen now so, ice and water should take care of you! :)
