The KKK used fear, intimidation, anonymity, and terror to promote their political, racist agenda. Sound familiar? It should. Today they wear black masks instead of white, but they are still the same terrorist democrats as they were before.

What are the basic beliefs of the democrats?

Quoth the wikipedia:Since the 1890s, the Democratic Party has favored "liberal" positions (the term "liberal" in this sense describes social liberalism, not classical liberalism). In recent exit polls, the Democratic Party has had broad appeal across all socio-ethno-economic demographics. The Democratic Party is currently the nation's largest party. In 2004, roughly 72 million (42.6%) Americans were registered Democrats, compared to 55 million (32.5%) Republicans and 42 million (24.8%) independents.Historically, the party has favored farmers, laborers, labor unions, and religious and ethnic minorities; it has opposed unregulated business and finance, and favored progressive income taxes. In foreign policy, internationalism (including interventionism) was a dominant theme from 1913 to the mid-1960s. In the 1930s, the party began advocating welfare spending programs targeted at the poor. The party had a pro-business wing, typified by Al Smith, and a Southern conservative wing that shrank after President Lyndon B. Johnson supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The major influences for liberalism were labor unions (which peaked in the 1936-1952 era), and the African American wing, which has steadily grown since the 1960s. Since the 1970s, environmentalism has been a major new component. In recent decades, the party has adopted a centrist economic and more socially progressive and social democratic agenda, with the voter base having shifted considerably. Today, Democrats advocate more social freedoms, affirmative action, balanced budget, and a free enterprise system tempered by government intervention (mixed economy). The economic policy adopted by the modern Democratic Party, including the former Clinton administration, may also be referred to as the "Third Way". The party believes that government should play a role in alleviating poverty and social injustice and use a system of progressive taxation. The Democratic Party, once dominant in the Southeastern United States, is now strongest in the Northeast (Mid-Atlantic and New England), Great Lakes region, and the Pacific Coast (including Hawaii). The Democrats are also strongest in major cities.

What does The left wing of the US Democrats resembles?

That is a good question. Everyone who answers questions here on answers.com is a volunteer and has some kind of political persuasion, or none at all. I answer Democrats questions and consider myself a conservative Democrat. You ask a question about a portion of the Democratic party. A caucus perhaps. People who are "left wing" Democrats. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, I think, fits into that description. Persons that President Lyndon Johnson called "Professional Liberals." What does the left wing resemble? Not much different from all Americans I suspect. Nothing like the 'Socialists' label given by so many haters and chronic complainers; professional complainers, if you will. Really, when you boil things down, the two parties are not that much different. Witness the bi-partisanship over the recent NSA revelations. The parties as a whole differ only around the edges and the left wing of the Democratic Party is in some part one of those edges.

No, the Labour Party is the dominant left-wing party of the United Kingdom. The dominant right-wing party is the Conservative Party - but their political stance is probably closer to the Democratic Party than the Republican Party. European countries tend to be more left-wing than the US.

What two political parties dominate the U.S. political landscape?

The US political party system, for most of its history, has had a two party system. Most is a key word here. Bringing the question to today's US party system, the Democratic and Republican parties dominate the US. With that said, it should be noted that within each party are various "wings". Meaning in the Democratic Party for example purposes, there is a left wing of the party and a moderate wing and a conservative wing. This is true for the Republican party as well.
