The sources of energy in the body are carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, being burned in the presence of oxygen. But the chemical reactions required to consume this energy do require water, and in fact produce water and carbon dioxide as byproducts.

So water is needed for energy consumption, but it's not itself a source of energy.
