True to their name, Navarasas are nine in number. They are nine abinayas or in simplar words nine expressions these abinayas are called :-
1) Shringara -The expression of Feeling Shy.
2) Veera - The expression of Bravery - (Courage)
3) Bhayanaka-The expression of feeling scared.
4) Adbuda -The expression of Surprise
5) Karuna -The expression of pity for someone or something.
6) Bibasthatha - The expression of disgust.
7) Roudhra - The expression of anger.
8) Haasya - The expression of laughter.
9) Shantam -The expression of peace.
One rule about navarasas is it need not be said in order but shringara should
always be said in the begning and shantam at last.
