However, there was only one branch of the central government and that was Congress. The states still conducted the state government for their state.
Actually no. I thought he did, but while researching for a school project I realized he was already dispatched to be an ambassador to France before the second continental congress accepted the plan. On the final document, I cannot find any mention of Ben Franklin signing it.

The only successful parts of the Articles were the Land Ordinances, which divided up new land, but the Articles also provided a weak enough government that revision was necessary, leading to the creation of the Constitution.
