Where were venetian blinds first made?

The general design of the blinds is found in both ancient Egypt and in China. They were apparently introduced in France after being brought to Venice from Persia, sometime before 1500 AD. The French name for the blinds is "les persiennes". They were popularized in England and the US in the 1700's. An English patent was issued to metallurgist Gowin Knight in 1760. Credit for the current form is often attributed to Edward and Frederick Bopp of Kansas City, who developed a form of roller blinds. But it was in 1841 that inventor John Hampson of New Orleans patented a method for adjusting the individual slats in the Venetian blind, to regulate the light through them.

How do you make a drawing look 3d?

Dimension can be achieved with the use of a cross-hatching technique. The idea behind cross-hatching is that the more lines are layered, the darker the area is, and so the more shadowed that place is. By darkening areas and leaving others lighter, you can create a gradient that shows the progression from highlight to shadow. You must also consider what areas are light and what areas are dark. The value progression begins with highlight, but there is also a reflective light from surfaces behind or underneath an object.

What is the role of a fixer in black and white photography?

Films and photo papers contain light-sensitive grains called silver halides. When you develop, the silver halide grains that were struck by light are chemically reduced to black metallic silver. The remaining silver halide grains have to be removed from the material or they'll get dark and ruin your picture. Fixer dissolves the silver halide grains and the water wash which follows removes them so your picture will be permanent.

What color do you get when you mix dark blue and light blue?

BLUE!!!!! ----- The color (hue) will be a blue, but it depends on how your mixing what color you finally get. If mixing subtractively (like inks on paper) your colors are filtering the light that reflects off the page (we'll assume the light and the page is white). In this case "light blue" is a transparent blue and dark blue is blue and black, so the white light in the room will be both filtered by the pale blue and the dark blue. The pale blue removes some of the light which isn't blue, the dark blue removes a lot of the light - even some blue. None of this puts any light back, so the dark blue would dominate - you would get dark blue. If you were mixing light (additive mixing), dark blue is just a small amount of (dim) blue light and light blue is blue light with a bit less of all other colours in it (white). What you get then is the light blue, with just a little extra blue in it. Imagine a room in daylight and switching on a blue light-blub - would you notice the room becoming more "blue"? You'd probably still call it light-blue. If mixing opaque paints and you took a pale blue (blue+white) and very dull blue (blue+black) you would get a cool-blue-gray. You certainly wouldn't get back to a spectrum (saturated) blue.

What is the drawing that gives the illusion of depth?

The two best ways to create depth in a drawing are perspective and shading. Perspective simply involves drawing an object as it would appear to you. For example, something further away would appear smaller than something right in front of you. Shading involves darkening the area in which shadow would normally fall. For a more realistic picture, focus on a light source so all areas exposed to the source would be lighter than those shadowed from it.

Yes, this is quite often a popular window dressing. Its ideal because the Vertical Blind can be used during the day to filter the light and also protect furniture from being bleached by the sun. Polarization is the alignment of the transverse vibration in a single direction say in the horizontal direction or vertical direction or any other specific direction.
