In order, the visible spectrum is violet, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red. Yellow is the color between green and orange.
Does not matter to much since they will be registered in black and white. Is not the color to concern but the grayscale gradient.I recommend do not use something in the same brigthness as the sand, the sea or the sky. I would use white and ligth a little the subject to make background deep, and a little darker.
off-white is a shade. i know this because we are the manufacturers of paints and distempers and we have off-white shade on our shade cards.

Any and all florescents look great on a black background. They work together not in harmony, like in conventional color, but how they vibrate against each other.
