Take it to Auto Zone and have the codes read for free.
If it is an automatic, it may be a transmission problem. If it is a standard, downshift.
Other than that it could be anything from spark plug to fuel line blockage.
No, the check engine light does not come on because your gas is half way full. The check engine light will come on if there is a problem with the engine.
no a burnt out headlight will not cause a check engine light but if you go to most of the part places they will check the check engine light for free
maybe its your alternator, if its giving off a weak enough charge, when you put the brake lights on, it drains too much power to run your engine. to check the alternator, start car, and remove the positive cable from your battery with some accesories running. if your car sputters, or stalls, just replace the alternator. hope this helps.
A flashing engine light is usually a misfire.
There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
need to check your evap system or you have a blown head
check engine mounts
Could be a restriction in the exhaust such as a catalytic converter that has had a meltdown. If the check engine light is or has illuminated, check the codes.
i have a 1994 eclipse with a 1.8 we replaced the head gasket and timeing belt now it sputters at low rpms an the check engine light is on what could be th problem ?
Change your fuel filter. If if it only does it when the engine is hot, check for a coolant leak.
your air cleaner could be dirty, u might need some fule injection cleaner, the timing , sparkplugs. these are all posibals to check.
you might just need a good tune up if that dont fix it check your fuel filter if that is good then get some throttle body cleaner and clean that out and if your still not good have your injectors cleaned and worst case senario you might have weak ignition elements
If no codes (check engine light) or rpm fluctation first check fuel pressure
check the recalls!!
I had same problem, but this can be caused by a few different things. its either the PTU, the coil pack or the ECU, more often than not its the ECU!
Check all front end components for wear. Then check the engine and transmission mounts as the engine could be shifting and causing the shake.
Check for a vacuum leak.
