1. Could be a bad ground from battery negative to engine block. High resistance at the ground connection can allow the solenoid enough current to click, but not enough to turn over the starter. Suggest checking all grounds. 2. If starter is not shimmed properly for pinion engagement with the flywheel ring gear, pinion may not be able to engage and turn. good luck
If the remote car starter stopped working after a new battery was installed in the remote, the remote needs to be reprogrammed. If the remote starter stopped working after a new battery was installed in the vehicle, the computer might need to be reset by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.
It's ontop the starter and has been for years and it's called the starter solenoid. You send 12 volts to it when you crank the car.
your battery is dead or the starter solenoid
The starter relay is integrated into the starter. Have you checked the neutral lockout switch? If the neutral lockout switch is faulty or adjusted wrong the starter will never engage. It could also be that the starter wires are cross-connected. Using a volt meter, make sure you are getting voltage to the starter bendix when you attempt to start the engine. If not, start backtracking to the keyswitch to see where you DO have voltage.
Most commonly, it's the starter or the starter was wired wrong when it was installed. More rarely, it can also be the keyswitch or even a bad gear on the flex-plate.
Is there a picture of a Starter Solenoid for a Oldsmobile 1992
Where is the starter relay located on the 1996 Oldsmobile 88?
Show me a diagram of the starter location on a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero
it is located right in the middle of front of car just under engine and above crossmember. a little tough to get out but not too frustrating. get new starter with new solenoid already installed.
The 1997 Oldsmobile starter relay switch can be found in the fuse box. The starter relay switch will be at the top of the third column.
The solenoid is on the starter.
There is no relay. The solonoid is on the starter.
What is your question
where is the starter relay located??
Remove the intake manifold. The starter is underneath.
The starter on a 98 Oldsmobile Cutlass is located on the bottom, left side of the engine. It is held in place by a support bracket and bolts.
hard to say is the starter turning could also be a fuel problem or electric/ecu problem
