"Mecca" is a city in Saudi Arabia where those who follow the teachings of the prophet Muhammad try to travel to, or make a pilgrimage, or "Hajj" to, at least once in their lifetime. They enter in to the "Ka'ba" for this worship. Only those who are Muslims may enter into the Ka'ba. An infidel, or unbeliever, would take their life in their hands to try to do so. Hence I am persuaded the "brownstone house" is just as hard to attain for Gene as Mecca is in the Middle East. Also it can be just as far away as Mecca is, the other side of the world.
